What if we told you that you have been misapplying your conditioner all these years? In fact, according to professional hairdresser Clariss Rubenstein, we often make mistakes when applying our conditioner and it prevents it from working deeply on our hair.

For many, conditioner is an essential part of their hair routine. As Caroline Bottigliero, product manager of Hair Rituel by Sisley Paris, explains in the Marie Claire columns, a conditioner "must detangle and nourish the hair, give it shine. The best ones are also intended to act in depth to restructure the hair and make it more resistant".

But is it still necessary to apply it correctly? And it is that according to another hair specialist, many times we make mistakes when applying it in the shower.

Most of the time, we forget a crucial step before using our conditioner on our hair: wring it out. As explained by the professional hairdresser Clariss Rubenstein, interviewed by the American medium InStyle, if we don't squeeze our hair before applying the treatment, it won't penetrate properly. "It's been known for a long time that oil and water don't mix, and if your hair is soaking wet, it's a waste as well as a waste of time and money, because the conditioner won't have any effect on your hair," explains Dr. specialist.

The correct technique

"On the other hand, very dry hair will be able to benefit from the active ingredients of the product and will be much more effective than if all the material ends up in the shower siphon", she specifies. She then offers a technique for effectively towel drying your hair: "Start by gathering your hair at the back of your head like a ponytail. Then press the hair from the neck to the ends. Repeat the movement as many times as you want." as necessary: no more drops of water should fall".
